State University Supplemental Tuition Award (SUSTA)

The State University Supplemental Tuition Award (SUSTA) is a state grant that is funded by the New York State Division of Budget and is allocated to the University at Buffalo annually. The SUSTA grant is based on the Tuition Assistance Program (TAP) eligibility and financial need. You must be full-time to receive SUSTA.

Students must file their Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) and have high financial need in order to qualify. Funds are limited, and awards are not guaranteed from one year to the next. Students that lose TAP eligibility during the year will also have the SUSTA grant cancelled, as required by SUSTA program regulations.

Information is subject to change without notice due to changes in federal, state and/or institutional rules and regulations. Students must complete a FAFSA every year. Students must be making satisfactory academic progress to continue to receive financial aid.
