Office of Financial Aid
The 2015 - 2016 FAFSA is now available! If you plan on enrolling in the summer 2015, fall 2015, or spring 2016 terms, you should complete the FAFSA as soon as possible.
To be considered for all available financial aid awards including Federal Work Study, Federal Supplemental Educational Opportunity Grant (FSEOG), Federal Perkins and Health Profession Loans, you will need to complete your FAFSA before UB's priority filing date of March 1. You can still complete your FAFSA after March 1, but you may not be considered for these specific funds.
Make sure to include UB's school code (SUNY at Buffalo - 002837) on your FAFSA!
The 2015 - 2016 New York State TAP Grant application is now available! Undergraduate residents of New York State can access the TAP application from the confirmation screen that appears once you have submitted your FAFSA, or you can apply directly through HESC using UB's school code (SUNY Buffalo - 1010). If you apply through HESC, your application will be available three days after you submit your FAFSA.
UB will only receive your TAP application information if our school code (SUNY at Buffalo - 002837) is listed first on your FAFSA!
Reminders and News
Complete Your HUB To Do List Requirements! Check your HUB To Do List and complete any outstanding requirements. Your financial aid may be held until you have completed your checklist requirements.
New FSA ID will replace the Federal Student Aid PIN. In spring of 2015, Federal Student Aid (FSA) will implement a new login process for student and borrower-based websites including FAFSA on the web, NSLDS Student Access, Studentloans.gov, Studentaid.gov and the TEACH Grant website. The new FSA ID will replace the Federal Student Aid PIN and will be comprised of a username and password selected by the user.
This change is being made to eliminate the need for individuals to enter personal identifiers such as a Social Security Number, Name and Date of Birth to access FSA systems. Existing users with a Federal Student Aid PIN will be able to link their PIN information to the FSA ID.
More information on this change will be shared over the upcoming months.
Information is subject to change without notice due to changes in federal, state and/or institutional rules and regulations. Students must complete a FAFSA every year. Students must be making satisfactory academic progress to continue to receive financial aid.
