New FSA ID will replace the Federal Student Aid PIN. In spring of 2015, Federal Student Aid (FSA) will implement a new login process for student and borrower-based websites including FAFSA on the web, NSLDS Student Access,, and the TEACH Grant website. The new FSA ID will replace the Federal Student Aid PIN and will be comprised of a username and password selected by the user.

This change is being made to eliminate the need for individuals to enter personal identifiers such as a Social Security Number, Name and Date of Birth to access FSA systems. Existing users with a Federal Student Aid PIN will be able to link their PIN information to the FSA ID.

More information on this change will be shared over the upcoming months.

Information is subject to change without notice due to changes in federal, state and/or institutional rules and regulations. Students must complete a FAFSA every year. Students must be making satisfactory academic progress to continue to receive financial aid.
