Federal Perkins Loans

The Federal Perkins Loan program expired on September 30, 2017. No new Perkins loans will be awarded at this time.

Currently enrolled borrowers will continue to receive the in-school deferment as long as you remain enrolled in at least 6 credit hours.

Students who cease to be enrolled in at least 6 credit hours will receive an exit counseling notification from both UB and SUNY’s Student Loan Services Center (SLSC). The exit counseling will provide valuable information regarding repayment options and tips to manage your debt.

Information is subject to change without notice due to changes in federal, state and/or institutional rules and regulations. Students must complete a FAFSA every year. Students must be making satisfactory academic progress to continue to receive financial aid.
